Supporting our neighbors through relationship

What We Do

We provide gap-filling, culturally-aware support and friendship to refugees in our community in three main areas.

  • English is essential for refugee integration—enabling access to education, employment, healthcare, and community life. Our ESL programs equip refugees to engage with neighbors, advance professionally, and fully participate in their new community.

  • Refugee children need trauma-informed programs and safe spaces while both parents work. Through educational experiences with English-speaking mentors and peers, they develop a sense of belonging and are able to succeed in their new community.

  • Refugees face multiple barriers to successful integration, including cultural unfamiliarity, challenges related to education and employment, and limited social connections. Our volunteer-driven programs provide practical support in the context of meaningful relationships to bridge these gaps. Soon, N2N hopes to provide legal services that promote citizenship.

Our programming includes:

  • Afterschool recreational and tutoring sessions for all age youth, providing consistent educational and social support.

  • Tutoring refugee women in English through our TLC (Tea, Learning, and Conversation) program, equipping them for better job opportunities and empowering them to communicate with confidence.

  • Creating opportunities for celebration, gathering, and learning.

  • Empowering parents to take on active roles in their children's education through our Refugee Peer Parent program

  • Connecting youth with community members who share similar passions and interests through a Youth Mentorship program

  • Providing means of transportation to our youth and wage-earners through our Way to Go bike program, including bicycle donations, repair and maintenance.
